Tomorrow night’s special edition of 20/20 will focus on two standout personalities who have passed away in the past 48 hours: The mother-daughter duo of Carrie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds.
Debbie and Carrie: A Hollywood Love Story will air Friday night, only two days after ABC News rushed to air a 20/20 special on George Michael, who died on Christmas Day, and one week after the series aired its special about the notable names who died in 2016. It has been a rough week.
The one-hour special, anchored by Elizabeth Vargas, provides a look at the careers and legacies of Fisher and Reynolds, their complex relationship, the highs and lows of Reynolds’ memorable career, and Fisher’s life in Hollywood as well as tributes from family and friends.
Debbie and Carrie: A Hollywood Love Story airs Friday at 10 p.m. ET/ 9 p.m. CT on ABC. The previously-scheduled episode Footprints in the Snow will air at a later date.
