Speaking of this week, ABC News Washington bureau chief and This Week executive producer Jonathan Greenberger announced the addition of Ault in an internal note to staff:

DC Team,

I am pleased to announce that Trevor Ault started at ABC News this week as a Multi-Platform Reporter based here in Washington.

He joins us from KOIN-TV in Portland, Oregon, where he was the weekend evening anchor and a general assignment reporter. In Portland he’s gone undercover to expose the inner workings of illegal street racing groups and reported from the front lines of violent clashes between protestors and police after the 2016 election.

Trevor started as a digital content producer and reporter for WTOL-TV in his hometown of Toledo, Ohio and worked his way up to morning anchor. He honed his investigative skills there, questioning lawmakers and officials about toxic algae blooms that left the city with undrinkable tap water. He earned a Master’s degree from Syracuse University’s Newhouse School and spent his undergraduate years at Ohio’s Defiance College.

Trevor’s adept storytelling and dogged reporting will make him a great addition to our brilliant team here in Washington during this nonstop news cycle.

Please join me in giving him a warm welcome.

Jonathan
