Due to nearly two feet of snow in Minneapolis, the New York Giants-Minnesota Vikings game has been rescheduled for Monday night at 8:00 p.m. ET.
The Giants chartered flight was diverted to Kansas City on Saturday afternoon because Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport was closed due to the weather. The original plan was for the Giants to fly in Sunday morning but there was a concern about the amount of snow on the roof of the Metrodome.
“Due to the severe weather conditions and on the recommendation of Metrodome officials, the Giants-Vikings game will be moved to Monday night,” said NFL spokesman Greg Aiello in a statement.
Monday’s game will be shown locally in Minneapolis and New York on Fox. It will have no impact on the Monday Night Football contest between Baltimore and Houston on ESPN at 8:30 p.m. ET.
