Today show co-host and beloved weatherman Al Roker is back in hospital; it was revealed Thursday morning by his colleague, Today co-anchor Hoda Kotb.
Roker has been absent from NBC’s morning franchise since early November as he had been admitted to the hospital as a result of having a blood clot in his leg, which according to Roker’s Instagram post, subsequently sent some clots into his lung.

Kotb said that Roker is having some complications, which has led him to return to the hospital. She added that Roker is in “very good care,” and that he is resting and being closely monitored by the doctors.
We’re sending our love to @alroker as he returns to hospital.

Page Six paints a far more dire picture revealing that Roker was rushed back to the hospital via ambulance on Friday a day after he had been released from hospital.
Roker has been a Today staple for the past 30 years and his absence has been felt by his Today show crew. It was even more noticeable during this year’s Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade, his first absence in 27 years, with many viewers noting how his presence is part of the parade broadcast tradition.
The parade was just not the same without Al Roker😪. We recorded it and fast forwarded through most of it…and watched the Rockettes. Come back to us soon, Al.. Sending you our love ❤️ and healing prayers.
