As NBC News anchor Matt Lauer became the news last week, NBC Nightly News retook the top spot in the evening news ratings.
The Lester Holt-hosted show edged ABC’s World News Tonight with David Muir by +43,000 viewers or .5 percent. Compared to the same week last year all three shows lost audience: NBC was down -2 percent in viewers and down -9 percent in the demo; ABC was flat in viewers and down -8 percent in the demo; and CBS Evening News was down -10 percent in viewers and down -16 percent in the demo.
