Former CNN and MSNBC anchor Tucker Carlson joined us this morning from D.C. to talk President Obama and more.
We talked about the bailouts, which Carlson said he’s been against since the Bush administration. “I don’t think anybody has a right to a federally subsidized job,” he said. “I certainly didn’t. I bounced around over the past 20 years in journalism and the taxpayers have never stepped in to save my job.”
We talk about Carlson’s expanding new media presence as well — blogging at The Daily Beast and launching a new Website, NewsCue.com, in “a month or so.”
Also discussed: Carlson’s thoughts on the “fawning and childish” coverage of the Obamas Europe trip, whether Google is helping or hurting newspapers and if he’s ever cried on-air (a la Beck).
