Network Special Reports for 1,000-Point Market Crash

By Chris Ariens

The networks are producing special reports at the market open as the Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 1,000 points in the first few minutes of trading, following a 1,000 point drop last week. CNBC’s Dominic Chu joined Matt Lauer on NBC. Anthony Mason was on set with Norah O’Donnell on CBS. ABC News produced a special report with Robin Roberts and Rebecca Jarvis. And all the morning shows updated for the west coast. The business networks also went into overdrive. “I… I don’t… I gotta make some phone calls,” said David Faber on CNBC trying to both report and co-anchor Squawk on the Street. Due to a record-breaking surge in traffic, viewers logging on to CNBC.com experienced slowness this morning.
