In Chuck Todd’s second week as “Meet the Press” moderator, the NBC broadcast slipped from first to third place. CBS’ “Face the Nation” was the top program in total viewers for September 14, while ABC’s “This Week” topped the A25-54 demo.
“Face” bested “This Week” by +165,000 viewers, drawing its largest audience in two months. “This Week” beat the CBS broadcast by +34,000 demo viewers. The demo win marks 13 out of the last 16 weeks for ABC. Although “Meet” slipped to third, as NBC News told us last week, they expect a slow build to grow its audience.
Compared to the same week last year, “Face” was up +11% in viewers and +9% in the demo. “Fox News Sunday” saw the most total viewer growth, up +23% and also up +20% in the demo. “This Week” was up +7% in viewers and +39% in the demo. “Meet” was down -2% in viewers and -8% in the demo. “Al Punto” was down -9% in viewers and up +13% in the demo.
Cable rebroadcasts of “Fox News Sunday” averaged a combined 1,496,000 total viewers and 396,000 A25-54 viewers.
“Face the Nation” is based on the first half-hour only, as the full contiguous hour aired in just 67% of the country.
