CNN Sao Paulo-based producer Barbara Arvanitidis (pictured) and correspondent Shasta Darlington were injured this morning while covering a protest ahead of today’s opening match of the World Cup.
CNN’s Brian Stelter reports Darlington suffered “a minor cut on her arm” while Arvanitidis “was hit on her wrist” by a tear gas canister fired by police during a protest in Sao Paulo. Darlington tweeted her thanks to BBC News Rio de Janeiro-based correspondent Wyre Davies and a group of protestors who protected them before things got out of hand. VIDEO after the jump…
