Schiller’s move to Twitter will come after the company’s IPO which is set for Nov. 7. Schiller joined NBC News in June, 2011 from NPR where she had been CEO. She resigned from NPR in March, 2011, following two controversies, including the very public firing from NPR of Fox News analyst Juan Williams. Prior to NPR, Schiller was SVP of General Manager of NYTimes.com and, before that, she spent four years as SVP of the Discovery Times Channel, a joint venture of The New York Times and Discovery Communications.
