MarketWatch’s Jon Friedman is happy that the anchor of the NBC Nightly News will host Saturday Night Live on November 3. “It’s about time,” Friedman writes, “that Brian Williams tried to let his hair down on TV.”
According to Friedman, Williams is “an earnest anchor”, who, if able to “loosen up” on-air, “might just reclaim his ranking…as the top evening-news anchor.” After all, Friedman continues, “the Williams that viewers unfortunately don’t get to see and hear up close” is “relaxed, laugh-out-loud funny, droll, witty and wry.”
Friedman believes Williams will be “terrific” as SNL host, adding, “Your move, Charlie Gibson.”
