9pm Battle: Colmes, Ayers on “Hannity,” Clooney, Iseman on “King”

It’s going to be a ratings battle tonight at 9pmET, as FNC and CNN each have unique line-ups.

Alan Colmes makes his first return appearance to the 9pmET hour, and he’ll be bringing his former co-host, Sean Hannity, an exclusive interview — with Bill Ayers. The interview took place in FNC’s Chicago bureau. “It’s a colossal mistake,” says Ayers of President Barack Obama’s decision to send 17,000 troops to Afghanistan. “And, you know, we’ve seen this happen before, Alan. We’ve seen a hopeful presidency, Lyndon Johnson’s presidency, burn up in the furnace of war.”

On CNN, Larry King Live will feature four very different segments. The show kicks off with a George Clooney interview (fresh off his meeting with VP Joe Biden at the White House). The show closes with the first TV interview from Vicki Iseman, who recently dropped her lawsuit against the New York Times. In between, King has an exclusive interview with T. Boone Pickens and John Podesta, and a panel discussion featuring Dee Dee Myers, Ari Fleischer and Bob Woodward.

Rachel Maddow
is out with the flu on MSNBC — Alison Stewart will be filling in.
