
Nominations for the 37th Annual News and Documentary Emmy® Awards were announced today by The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.
PBS leads the way with a total of 54 nominations, led by 18 for Frontline. CBS News follows with 37 nominations, including 26 for 60 Minutes, the most-nominated program. NBC News received 14 nominations, headlined by 6 for NBC Nightly News with Lester Holt and 5 for Dateline. ABC News scored 11 noms, 5 of which were for Nightline. Univision earned 7, including 2 for Aqui y Ahora.
Over on cable news, CNN received 13 News & Doc Emmys nominations, 4 of which were for Anderson Cooper 360. CNN en Español earned an additional 2 noms, giving CNN Worldwide a total of 15. The now-defunct Al Jazeera America garnered 10 noms, BBC World News earned 4, and MSNBC scored a nomination for All in With Chris Hayes – ‘Back to Baltimore’.
Fusion also received a single News and Documentary Emmy Award nomination for Prison Kids: A Crime Against America’s Children. The feature documentary, produced by the network’s investigative team, was nominated in the “Outstanding Informational Programming: Long Form” category.
The News & Documentary Emmys will be presented on Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2016 at Lincoln Center in New York.
