20/20 Senior EP David Sloan Has Been Named Senior EP, Network Prime Time Content

ABC News has named longtime 20/20 senior executive producer David Sloan to the role of senior ep, network prime time content.

In this new role, Sloan will work with ABC News svp of longform Beth Hoppe in overseeing prime time news specials, the long-running prime time series What Would You Do?, and new series produced by ABC News and Lincoln Square Productions for ABC.

Sloan has all of that on his plate, in addition to his continued leadership of 20/20.

Ethan Nelson will remain the ep of What Would You Do? for Lincoln Square Productions.

Sloan will also remain senior ep for Diane Sawyer’s specials, including her legendary interview with Caitlyn Jenner; breaking news specials on a wide range of topics from the Las Vegas massacre to Hurricane Harvey; and the top-rated Truth and Lies and Last Days franchises.

Sloan has been a part of 20/20 since 1990, starting as a senior producer before moving up to executive producer of 20/20 in 2000.

He joined ABC News in 1979 as a researcher on GMA and quickly moved up the ranks to senior producer, overseeing international projects on the morning show before transitioning to the legendary, Peabody Award-winning prime time newsmagazine.
