17 Million Watch Savannah Guthrie Super Bowl Sunday Obama Interview

While the Super Bowl proved to be the most-watched TV program ever — averaging 114.4 million viewers — the lead up to the big game proved to be a draw as well.

In the half hour that included Savannah Guthrie‘s Super Bowl Sunday interview with Pres. Obama 17.22 million people were watching. That’s more than 3 times the average of a typical “Today” show. In the A25-54 demo, Nielsen determined 7.85 million viewers watched the interview. Breaking the demo down even further: 3.52 million were women, and 4.33 million were men. The interview aired from 4:36pm-4:42pmET.
