The Who’s the Boss? sequel series is headed to Amazon’s Freevee for development, according to Deadline.
Tony Danza and Alyssa Milano will reprise their roles as Tony and Samantha Micelli, respectively.
The beloved sitcom ran for eight seasons on ABC from 1984 to 1992.
The sequel is set 30 years after the events of the original series. The new version will center on Samantha Micelli (Milano), a single mother who still resides in the house where she grew up in the first series. Tony (Danza), her retired father, resides with her.
There is currently no information on whether Judith Light and Danny Pintauro will return to their roles; Katherine Helmond passed away in 2019.
Norman Lear will executive producer with Once Day at Time co-producers Mike Royce and Brigitte Muñoz-Liebowitz. Sony Pictures Television, which holds the rights to the original, has been working on the follow-up for the past two years.
