ABC’s premiere of “American Crime” will be in the 10 p.m. ET slot of #TGIT tonight and it’s already creating a buzz. According to the critics, it’s worth it:
American Crime is worth watching. It is very blunt in style but the characters are good & it builds up a lot over the first four episodes.

Which means that Thursdays don’t totally belong to Shondaland, but will her gladiators stick around for what critics says is a “heavy handed” drama about race? “Scandal” fans have let up since the winter premiere, when finding out where Olivia was became frustrating and “How to Get Away With Murder” got good for a second. Even during winter hibernation, the social activity around “Scandal” seems turned down, exactly when it should be trending up.
ABC is streaming the last five episodes of the show on abc.go, and you don’t have to authenticate. They might be worried you aren’t watching, too. It didn’t help that the finale of “How to Get Away With Murder” took up the “Scandal” slot last week. Katie Lowes, who plays Quinn, got a better response plugging last week’s finale than her invite to live-tweet her own show tonight:
Nope, #Scandal is not on tomorrow, but I am ALL ABOUT a 2 hour #HTGAWM season finale!!! Ahhhhhhh! pic.twitter.com/KyFt4RCnAv

It’s obviously not the beginning of the end. Or is it? Let’s just call it a fourth season slump.
