David Letterman’s last show is tomorrow night and people are already memorializing the host on social media. It’s a big enough deal that even Jimmy Kimmel will be airing a re-run so as not to compete with him, and the last few shows have been pretty emotional. Just watch Norm Macdonald tear up while doing stand up last night. Fans are pretty bummed and curious about Colbert:
I’m now entering the full on denial stage over the end of Letterman. Not happening. Nananananananana. Not listening.

I’m just hoping that when Colbert takes over he won’t be afraid of smart conversation the way every show except @Letterman is now.

In all seriousness, in the absence of Letterman, everything we know is over.

It’s not so much that I’m sad to see the Letterman show end. It’s more like… I want to go back to 1982 and have it start all over again.

I’ll never be on #Letterman and that makes me #sad

I find it incredibly sad that in 72 hours, we will live in a world where David Letterman doesn’t have a television show.

Colbert left, Letterman is leaving, Stewart is leaving….and yet no one at Fox News is even taking a vacation. The world isn’t fair

Love Colbert but sure gonna miss Letterman.

I will miss Letterman badly, but Colbert is a genius so there’s that. #itsmy2cents

All I have to say about Letterman’s retirement is that Stephen Colbert is the funniest human being on the planet.

kimmel inspired me. out of respect for letterman, i’ll be airing several reruns a day and new episodes only on tuesdays until his last show.
