REPORTS TO: ONLINE NEWS MANAGER
DATE OF POSTING: MARCH 28, 2007 (POSITION IS OPEN UNTIL FILLED)
This will be a regular, full-time, non-union, exempt position. Schedule will be flexible, but will include evenings and weekends.
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Repurposing news and programming content into a website format
· Working on special projects for web content
· Creating original web content
· Proofreading, adding graphics and video, and editing
· Working closely with news, programming, and sales departments
· Blogging, administration of blog site interface
· Management reserves the discretion to add or modify job duties as required
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Excellent writing and editing skills, attention to detail
· Familiarity with news writing and journalistic standards
· Familiarity with graphics programs such as PhotoShop, Image Ready
· Basic understanding and aptitude to learn more about HTML, Flash and other developing technologies
· Familiarity with the Blogosphere or social networking sites such as MySpace.
· Working knowledge of WorldNow toolset helpful
· Good news judgment
· Must be a self-starter, hard-worker, have a great attitude, be versatile and efficient
