1010WINS.com, the award-winning 24-hour New York City all-news Web
site, is looking for a Web producer. Duties include, but are not
limited to: producing news material for the Web site in a timely
manner, including story selection, coordinating stories with station
editors, writing, copyediting, headline writing, audio, video and
still photo selection; posting breaking news quickly and accurately;
updating/refreshing existing site content several times throughout
day; helping Web staff and news editors with special projects when
necessary; monitor home page and site sections for outdated material
and style and managing user-generated content.
We’re looking for a creative team player who is flexible, has a good
nose for news and is looking to grow with the site/station. You must
be able to juggle multiple tasks, meet deadlines, work in an
ever-changing, fast paced environment and pay strict adherence to
detail. Oh and you must love what you do!
The Web producer will cover a Monday – Friday evening shift and
breaking news and special events as needed.
Qualifications: Experience in print or with other online news Web
sites is required; Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications or
related field; a good working knowledge of Photoshop, video/audio
editing tools, basic HTML, AP writing style and Web content
management systems is helpful. Applicants must be strong writers and
be willing to work flexible hours. Successful writing test is
mandatory. Position will report to Senior Web Producer,
1010wins.com.
