Aaron Perlman is the morning weather guy for KBAK-KBFX TV in Bakersfield, California. When the morning show crew launched a “Facebook Face-off” — a race to see which on-air talent could drive the most new Facebook friends — Perlman pulled out all the stops with an entertaining music video:
Called “Facebook Friendship,” the song entices people to friend him on Facebook. The lyrics even break down the details on how to do it:
OHHHHH… SEARCH AARON PERLMAN
OHHHHH… CLICK ADD ME
OHHHHH… AND WE CAN PLAY FARKLE… OR FARMVILLE… OR FISHVILLE… WHATEVER
LET’S GET TO 5,000 FRIENDS
And sure enough, it worked like a charm. He quickly outpaced the rest of the morning team, hit 5,000 friends and… stopped. That’s right, Facebook limits friends to 5,000, so Perlman quickly created a Facebook fan page and is urging his new friends to “like” him instead. It’s a great reminder for TV talent to create Facebook pages. In the meantime, we’re waiting for the remix — “Like Me on Facebook.”
