I’m not happy with Twitter this morning since I’ve been saving some “Walking Dead” episodes and wasn’t ready to have it spoiled for me. I know we can’t expect complete secrecy but do you have to let #RIPBeth start trending? You’re killing me, guys. That’s a plot point in a hashtag.
Here’s the thing about an intense show such as “The Walking Dead” and social media: they were made for each other. It wouldn’t work if the characters weren’t as good as they are. But it’s impossible to watch a group of people you start to care about fight zombies and try to create a new world without getting shrill about it on social media.
And talk about a good social setup. Also trending last night was #AskNorman. Norman Reedus (or Daryl, King of All Men, as I refer to him) live-tweeted the finale last night and did a Q&A, though he might have been better off using a different platform since most questions were like this:
ARE YOU EMOTIONALLY OK WITH BETH DYING BECAUSE IM NOT #AskNorman

Here are some others who weren’t ready for her to go and other spoilers:
Daryl cries?
Still in shock. I’m extremely emotional right now. I think I’m gonna go cry for the rest of the night #RIPBeth. #WhenDarylCriesWeAllCry — GRACΣ (@mgraceaquino) December 1, 2014
They’re real, dude, they’re real:
FYI, there is a RIP hashtag trending globally for a fictional character. That is all. #RIPBeth#TheWalkingDead — TrivWorks (@TrivWorks) December 1, 2014
I think she’s going to die almost every episode:
For real though. She lasted longer than we all thought. #RIPBeth
