Univision hosts Romney and Obama for 'meet and greet' on Facebook

By Natan Edelsburg

The social TV election continues to grow. Before the first traditional debate has taken place between President Obama and former Governor Romney, Univision is hosting a “meet and greet” for each candidate, which is being streamed live on their Facebook page right now. Tonight the former governor is taking the stage in Miami and tomorrow night President Obama will. Here are more details about this “first of a kind” partnership with Facebook to make this social web event possible.

The event was made possible through a partnership with Facebook’s politics hub. Each candidate will be discussing issues and answering questions about the Hispanic community. What’s extremely interesting about this partnership is that the event, officially titled “Meet the Candidates” will stream online before they air on Univision at 10pm ET tonight and tomorrow night. The conversation is being moderated tonight and tomorrow night at the University of Miami by Jorge Ramos and Maria Elena Salinas anchors from Univision’s “Noticiero Univision.”
