TV Commercials On Your Mobile Device?

Flurry, a mobile app and analytics platform, has announced a new ad platform that will bring TV-like commercials to mobile apps and games, as reported by ReadWriteWeb.

From RWW:

While initially, a consumer’s gut reaction may be a groan at the thought of an ad popping up in the middle of an intense gaming session, the new service offers an enticing feature which may change their minds. Gamers can actually earn in-game rewards like virtual currency for viewing the clips and have the opportunity to earn even more if they share those clips via Facebook or Twitter.

Besides that, TV ads within apps aren’t entirely new. Anyone who’s used Pandora is familiar with the occasional video pop-up ad between songs.

From an advertiser standpoint, Flurry offers at least one intriguing selling point:

“Engage a daily audience of more than 30 million users at a fraction of TV commercial spend.”
