By Rebecca Theodore-Vachon

The trailers for Apple TV+’s Roar and Peacock’s Killing it were released today.

Nicole Kidman headlines Roar, a star-studded anthology series, which debuts all eight episodes on Friday, April 15. Based on a book of short stories by Cecelia Ahern, the series spans genres from magical realism to psychological horror, featuring everyday women in extraordinary circumstances. Issa Rae (Insecure) stars in the episode, The Woman Who Disappeared, about a successful novelist facing creative challenges, and Kidman is featured in the episode “The Woman Who Ate Photographs.”  The cast includes Cynthia Erivo (Harriet), Merritt Weaver (Unbelievable), Alison Brie (Happiest Season, GLOW), Betty Gilpin (The Tomorrow War), Meera Syal (Yesterday), Fivel Stewart (Atypical) and Kara Hayward (Us). Carly Mensch and Liz Flahive serve as co-showrunners.

Craig Robinson reunites with Brooklyn Nine Nine co-creator Dan Goor in the new comedy series, Killing It. When Robinson’s character is in jeopardy of losing custody of his daughter, he resorts to snake hunting to raise money. The series premieres April 14 on Peacock.

“We love all the ambitious, challenging, thematically-rich series that populate the current peak-TV landscape. We also love jokes. So, we tried to make a show that could deliver both. We wanted ‘Killing It’ to explore America’s quasi-religious obsession with entrepreneurship and wealth, and we also wanted it to be funny. Really, really funny. Plus, we wanted it to have big snakes,” said co-showrunners Goor and Luke Del Tredici.

The cast includes Claudia O’Doherty, Rell Battle, Scott MacArthur, Stephanie Nogueras, Wyatt Walter and Jet Miller.
