The nominees for the 5th Annual Streamy Awards were announced this morning and most of your favorite YouTube creators are up for an award. The Streamy’s honor the best in online video, chosen by the Streamy Blue Ribbon panel which is made up of creators and industry execs and experts. Favorites like Snapchat’s SnapperHero and Epic Rap Battles of History earned the most noms. Streamy Awards creator Drew Baldwin says that:
If the strength of this year’s nominees is any indication, we are on track for the biggest Streamys ever. This past year, video creators have inspired, educated, and entertained us like never before and I can imagine no better way to celebrate our community’s achievements than with Dick Clark productions and VH1 for our first-ever television and digital broadcast.
Last year’s awards garnered seven million views on YouTube and 28 million Vine loops in 24 hours, and three trending worldwide topics on Twitter during the broadcast.
The awards will air on VH1 September 17th at 10 p.m.
