The Sandman was the most streamed program for the week of August 8, according to the Nielsen Streaming Top 10 report.
The fantasy series, based on Neil Gaiman’s graphic novels, pulled in 1,386 billion minutes viewed. Last week’s top streamed program, Stranger Things, slipped down to No.3 with 1,123 billion minutes viewed. The high-action adventure movie Uncharted, starring Tom Holland and Mark Wahlberg, was the second most streamed program, topping the most-streamed movie charts with 1,185 billion minutes viewed. The Jamie Foxx vampire thriller Day Shift also had 982 million minutes viewed, followed by the medical drama series Virgin River with 934 million minutes viewed.
Disney+ cracked the Top 10 lists with Bluey and Lightyear. Bluey, an animated children’s show, was No.1 on the Top 10 Streaming Acquired Programs list with 917 million minutes viewed. Lightyear was the tenth most streamed program and was No.3 on the Top 10 Films list at 700 million minutes viewed.
Prime Video’s A League of Their Own, a series based on the hit 1992 film, had a solid opening weekend with 326 million minutes viewed, landing the No.8 spot on the Top 10 Streaming Originals Program list. Another Prime Video entry, Thirteen Lives, which covers the Tham Luang cave rescue and stars Viggo Mortensen, Colin Farrell and Joel Edgerton, attracted 333 million minutes.
