This Fool has been renewed for a second season at Hulu less than two months after debuting on the steamer.
Set in South Central LA, the half-hour comedy follows Julio Lopez (Chris Estrada), a 31-year-old man still living with his mother and grandmother. Julio has been in an on-again, off-again relationship with his girlfriend (Michelle Ortiz) since high school and is restless in his job at Hugs Not Thugs, a Los Angeles gang rehabilitation facility. At the facility, he clashes with his older cousin Luis (Frankie Quiñones), a former gang member who is currently enrolled in the Hugs Not Thugs program after being released from jail after serving an eight-year sentence. Luis has moved in with the family, causing even more conflict.
This Fool cast also includes Laura Patalano, Julia Vera and Michael Imperioli, who plays Julio’s boss.
Estrada and producers Pat Bishop, Matt Ingrebretson and Jake Weisman came up with the idea for the show in 2018.
Jonathan Groff and Fred Armisen also serve as eps on the series.
