Position Summary:
Responsible for operating the video switcher and associated equipment and directing live news production and pre-production.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
 Work with production crew, news graphics operators and engineering to prepare and execute the stations news broadcasts as the Technical Director and Director.
 Have essential understanding of audio operation, BCS operation, Graphics and computerized systems that relate to video transfer, recording and editing.
 Working closely with news personnel in pre-production and the production of live & recorded news products.
 Able to supervise floor crew to prepare studio for all productions; lighting, sets/props, gripping.
 Occasional assistance with set-up and tear-down of studio and or remote productions.
 Other duties or productions that the Production Manager may assign.
Minimum Qualifications — All must be met to be considered.
Minimum two years college education in television broadcasting or related field, equivalent work experience or combination thereof may also be substituted. Prior experience as a Director or Technical Director for news broadcasts is desirable. Experience with computer operating systems and software related to broadcasting.
Skills and Abilities
 Physically able to operate broadcast equipment weighing 50 to 75 pounds.
 Ability to pull, climb, bend, stoop, and lift/push a minimum of 50 pounds.
 Ability and willingness to work flexible shifts of all hours, weekends, holidays, and overtime.
 Ability to maintain a positive and corporative working relationship with co-workers, other department personnel, and management.
 Ability to work and stay focused on the job under the pressure of live broadcast deadlines and an environment of quick and constant change.
 Have a valid driver’s license.
