Sr. Writer / Editor, Entertainment
The candidate will be responsible for compiling wire copy, editing staff and wire copy, writing headlines and producing stages for the Entertainment section. Candidate must have strong copy editing and multi-tasking skills. The candidate will produce, manage and update the Entertainment cover and subsections and coordinate with other sections. Responsible for working with the publishing tools to do the hands-on content preparation for a specific area, most likely to be music and Lifestyle subsections. Will be given a budget to coordinate coverage.
Requires BA or BS in liberal arts or journalism, or equivalent experience. At least five years experience working as a copy editor, preferably for online news organizations as a producer or editor. Excellent entertainment news judgment. Understanding of capabilities of Internet. Excellent communication skills. Flexibility. Ability to collaborate effectively with others, solve problems and find solutions. Position may be located in Redmond, WA or Secaucus, NJ. Please specify prefered location in your response.
