Showtime Renews The Chi for Season 6

Showtime has renewed The Chi for a sixth season.

The Chi is a coming-of-age tale that follows a group of South Side Chicago individuals who, albeit connected by chance, are united by a desire for connection and redemption.

The fifth season of the series, which is currently airing on Showtime, is on track to surpass last season’s viewership numbers by more than 20%. The sixth season will air in 2023.

The Season 5 cast includes Jacob Latimore, Alex Hibbert, Yolonda Ross, Shamon Brown Jr., Michael V. Epps, Birgundi Baker, Luke James, Curtiss Cook, Kandi Burruss, La La Anthony, Jason Weaver, Steven Williams and Rolando Boyce. 

Iman Shumpert guest stars, along with Nia Jervier, Carolyn Michelle Smith, L’lerrét Jazelle and Antonyah Allen.

In addition to Lena Waithe and Common, the series is executive produced by Aaron Kaplan, Rick Famuyiwa, Derek Dudley and Shelby Stone of ID8 Multimedia; Rishi Rajani, CEO of Hillman Grad Productions; Jewel Coronel and showrunner Justin Hillian.
