With the return of TGIT, the Republican debates, and American Crime Story, it was a busy television week on Twitter. According to Nielsen Social, the Republican Debates drove the most action on the social network with a few highlights:
- In the U.S., tweets about the debate were sent by 243,000 people and seen 160 million times, according to Twitter TV Impressions.
- The most tweeted minute of the night was at 9:38 p.m. ET, when 15,400 tweets were sent after the candidates discussed the attacks on 9/11 and the War in Iraq.
- The top mentioned candidate of the night was “Trump” who was mentioned in 285,000 tweets about the TV event. “Cruz” was mentioned in 121,000 tweets.
