ABC’s “Grey’s Anatomy” wrapped its 10th season last night with one of its lead characters bidding farewell after being with the show since its launch in 2005.
Dr. Cristina Yang, played by Sandra Oh, departed Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital to take over a research hospital in Zurichl.
Of course, she didn’t head east without a hitch; she was presumed dead after a Seattle mall explosion, but ended up surviving, helping tend to victims at the hospital before leaving amid emotional farewells to her fellow doctors.
Oh’s farewell, and the show’s season finale, stirred a lot of social activity: “Grey’s” was the number one most talked about show on Nielsen Social’s top 5 list, with 201,000 tweets posted in the buildup to, during, and after the finale. Those tweets reached a unique audience of 2,454 people.
With the show for 10 years, Oh thanked fans and colleagues via social.
