REPORTS TO: Director Sales and Revenue Development

SUMMARY: These two positions are an integral part of the newly-formed
Digital division of Schurz Communications, Inc. Taking direction
from the Director, Sales and Revenue Development these positions will
work with all existing newspapers, TV, radio and cable properties to
increase revenue from digital media businesses. These positions will
be the key persons communicating the corporate advertising strategy
directly to the digital sales person(s), the traditional product
sales team and sales management at all SCI properties. Works closely
with digital media and traditional media sales personnel to help
develop and meet revenue goals. Will help guide SCI properties in
meeting the corporate SCI digital media initiatives, with a
specialization in growing digital media revenue. . These positions
will be responsible for any other duties assigned as required to meet
all goals.

• Ability to seek out and maximize new digital media revenue within
our markets.

• Ability to develop custom sales packages for the properties
assigned to each candidate.

• Ability to go on sales calls with core and digital media sales
persons to teach them how to sell digital media at the local level.

• Able to collect, analyze and research data.

• Ability to teach local sales team how to use sales automation

• Ability to learn and understand new digital delivery technologies
and how to use them to generate revenue.

• Utilizes problem-solving skills in order to develop alternative
strategies for when working with local properties.

• Demonstrates tact and diplomacy in monitoring activities and
making recommendations for improvements.

• Able to work with national advertisers to get them to buy SCI
websites.

• Instills confidence and demonstrated credibility to the field in
pursuing new digital media revenue opportunities across departments.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Ability to perform market research and evaluate sales strategies
to generate revenue for digital media products.

• Ability to compile and analyze data and monitor best practices
for revenue generation.

• Ability to conduct sales training in the field.

• Ability to manage complex technology for ad serving, tracking and
reporting

• Ability to create revenue models to assist locations in
evaluating products.

• Knowledge of financial modeling.

• Knowledge of competitive pricing structures

• Ability to provide on-site expertise in growing new digital media
revenues.

• Ability to create and analyze reports on various digital media
statistics (hits, bills, registration, views, new business, etc).

• Ability to evaluate digital ads for effectiveness and recommend
changes.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum of a four-year degree in business or related field, or an
equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Minimum of three years digital media sales and advertising
experience, preferred. Alternatively, demonstrable record of
successful web based sales and traditional media sales.

• Ability to travel up to three-quarters of the time to work with
all SCI locations
