The Roku Channel Adds Paramount+ as a Premium Subscription Offering

Paramount+ will launch as a premium subscription option within The Roku Channel later this month.

Users can sign up for Paramount+’s essential plan, which includes advertisements, for $4.99 per month or its ad-free premium plan, which costs $9.99 per month.

Roku also developed a specific live TV guide for all of Paramount+’s live content, making it the first time the company launched a programming guide for a premium subscription partner.

Users will have access to all of Paramount+’s live content, including live sports like the NFL and UEFA, breaking news from CBS Headlines Network, entertainment news from Entertainment Tonight and their local live CBS station.

This also marks the first time live sports programming lands on The Roku Channel within premium subscriptions.

“Paramount+ features an expansive breadth of content for the whole household, spanning original dramas, blockbuster movies, popular unscripted series, sports and news, all at a competitive price point,” said Jeff Shultz, chief strategy officer and chief business development officer at Paramount streaming, in a statement. “We are excited to expand our successful partnership with Roku and bring Paramount+ to The Roku Channel.”

The Roku Channel offers premium subscriptions from over 50 services, most recently adding Discovery+. The connected TV company added 1.8 million monthly active users to the platform last quarter to reach 63.1 million users, though streaming hours declined by 200 million, falling to 20.7 billion.
