Rick and Morty are back for more fantastical adventures Sunday, Sept. 4, at 11 p.m. ET on Adult Swim.

“It’s hard to overstate the impact of Rick and Morty. More than a hit show, it is truly a global phenomenon,” said Michael Ouweleen, president of Adult Swim and Cartoon Network. “As we prepare to launch this soon-to-be iconic season, we will be giving fans a unique way to be part of the fun, so keep your eyes peeled.”

The award-winning animated series follows Rick Sanchez (voiced by Justin Roiland), a sociopathic genius scientist who drags his anxious grandson Morty (also Roiland) on dangerous treks across the universe and alternate realities. The show was created by Dan Harmon (Community) and Roiland, who also serve as executive producers.

In a recent interview with IGN, Roiland shared his excitement for Season 6: “I will say that it’s a bit more canonical. It really rewards fans of the show that have been watching up to this point…So it’s like, I think we’re kind of finally back into the rhythm of Rick and Morty, and I think Season 6 is… I didn’t particularly think Season 5 was bad, but Season 6 is f*cking amazing. It really is a f*cking quality season.”

Seasons 1-5 of Rick and Morty are also available to stream on both Hulu and HBO Max.

Correction: A previous version of this article said Maurice LaMarche voiced Morty. However, Justin Roiland voices both title characters. It was a Wubba Lubba dub-Flub on our part.
