Red Sox hold meetup: you should, too

I’m going to #SoxUp tonight at Fenway Park, a gathering of Boston social media types. The Sox are helping to put on the meetup, and I think it’s ingenious. For years, Terry Heaton and I preached the idea that stations and newspapers should hold blogger meetups. I think gathering the social media people from your area is a great idea, too. We will be spreading word of mouth about the team. (Not that it needs it at the moment, but it will some day.) And we get to make contacts within the social media community in a fun environment. The meetup was organized through eventbrite. It costs $10 (but the first drink is free) and this won’t be a huge money-maker. It’s more about making connections. I’ll be livetweeting it tonight and will have a report tomorrow. Maybe even some video.
