Kerry Washington has put her star power behind her latest production, Reasonable Doubt, a Hulu original series that will premiere on September 27.

Created, written and executive produced by Raamla Mohamed, the series stars Emayatzy Corinealdi as Jax Stewart, a bold and brilliant defense attorney in Los Angeles who challenges the justice system at every turn. The cast also includes Michael Ealy, McKinley Freeman, TJ Mixson, Aderinsola Olabode, Tim Jo and Angela Grovey.

Hulu released a teaser trailer narrated by Washington, sharing her excitement about the legal drama. “I’m really proud of the show – walking through the world as this incredibly powerful Black woman does. I want people to feel changed and moved and touched and more in touch with themselves,” Washington said.

Reasonable Doubt is the first scripted drama series from Onyx Collective, which represents creators of color and underrepresented voices at Disney. Reasonable Doubt joins Onyx Collective’s slate of content, including Questlove’s Oscar-winning documentary Summer of Soul, The Hair Tales from executive producer Tracee Ellis Ross and The Plot, executive produced by two-time Oscar winner Mahershala Ali.

Washington will also star in and produce Unprisoned, an upcoming comedy series about a relationship therapist and single mom whose life is turned upside down when her father (Delroy Lindo) is released from prison and moves in with her and her teenage son.
