Product Manager, CBS TV Digital

POSITION OBJECTIVE

CBS Television Stations Digital Media Group is looking for an
experienced Product Manager to develop and implement the digital
product vision for the owned and operated television stations. This
role will work very closely with the business teams (sales, editorial
and business development) and the development teams (design & UI,
developers, testers, operations) and report to the Vice President,
Product Management.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Analysis, Strategy and Execution

 Leverages deep media experience and online industry knowledge to
bring new products to market

 Originates and develops new user experiences that help the
business surpass revenue goals

 Identifies and interprets customer (users, advertisers, and
partners) needs and translates user testing and customer feedback
into feature/functionality requirements

 Authors and updates product requirement documents based on key
stakeholder feedback

 Owns and drives the technology platform vision for individual
content verticals

 Drives individual business product web release strategy

 Accountable for business case development as well as product
specific budget formulation, compliance, and forecasting

 Develops strategies that respond to market trends, technology and
member needs

Cross Functional Interface

 Works closely with: a) business owners to develop and interpret
product strategies, b) creative teams to bridge design and
engineering work effort, c) project managers and the development and
testing teams to deliver products effectively and efficiently

 Serves as primary product interface into the technology
organization

 Evaluates internal and third party solutions and platforms and
recommends on ‘buy/license vs. build’ options

 Leads and coordinates interdepartmental activities and
initiatives; communicates with senior management in other
departments

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & ABILITIES

 Advanced industry knowledge associated with an MBA or equivalent
3-5 years online media experience bringing new products to market

 Self-starter able to drive initiatives forward and work well
under pressure

 Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills

 Deep understanding of consumer facing online experiences

 Strong technical background

 Understanding of technical operation of publishing platforms

 Experience in digital media, e-services and internet development

 Excellent portfolio of work and evidence of depth of knowledge in
interactive projects

 Preferred — Mobile experience; has in-depth knowledge of mobile
applications, mobile web and mobile commerce industry.

EDUCATION

College Degree B.S./B.A. required. Post graduate degree preferred.
