Job Responsibilities: This position directs and supervises news
reporters, photographers, and editors and is responsible for ensuring
that high quality news programs are consistently aired and that
standards of quality for all aspects of the show are maintained.
Produces newscasts: including story selection and format, rundown
preparation and other editorial and production responsibilities
associated with news line producing, and have a complete grasp of how
news shows are produced. Ensures that all reporters, photographers,
and editors handle their responsibilities for format, news writing,
and distribution of final scripts. Duties also include oversight of
scripts, graphics, the enforcement of deadlines and related standard
operating procedures. Publishes news stories and edits and posts
video to the Web. Other Web responsibilities may develop as expansion
of news involvement in Web publishing grows. Produce or assist in the
production of special projects outside of regularly assigned
newscasts Provide Control Room supervision with regard to timing and
content, and coordination and execution of live shots while program
is on-air.

Experience Requirements: College Degree in Journalism, Mass
Communication or related field preferred. Must have strong news and
editorial judgment. Also must be able to handle small details, as
they will be working with many elements in the newscasts. Must have
strong writing skills, and high production standards. Web publishing
skills a plus. Minimum two years experience producing a primary
newscast in a comparable market.
