PBS Stations to Be Live Streamed on Allen Media Group’s Local Now

Local Now, the local news and entertainment streaming outlet from Allen Media Group, will live stream local PBS stations and its Kids 24/7 channel, according to Deadline.

The viewers of Local Now will have access to PBS’s award-winning programming, which includes locally produced programs, educational series, and fan favorites like PBS Newshour, Frontline and Antiques Roadshow, the news outlet reports.

“The addition of local PBS stations is a major achievement for Local Now and cements our position as the leader of free-streaming local news and entertainment in America,” Allen Media Group founder, chairman and CEO Byron Allen told Deadline. “Viewers of all ages know and love PBS and soon they will be able to stream this amazing content for free, anytime.”

Over the next months, Local Now, which offers localized news, weather, sports, traffic, and entertainment in more than 225 markets nationwide, will become available to participating PBS stations. The full rollout will happen in 2023.
