Hulu Sets April 28 Premiere For FX’s Under the Banner of Heaven Limited Series

Hulu has set a Thursday, April 28 premiere for FX’s Under The Banner of Heaven, a new limited series starring Andrew Garfield and inspired by Jon Krakauer‘s true crime bestseller.

The series follows the events that led to the 1984 murder of Brenda Wright Lafferty (Daisy Edgar-Jones) and her baby daughter in a suburb in the Salt Lake Valley, Utah.

Garfield—fresh off his Oscar nomination for Tick Tick…Boom! and his surprise appearance in the blockbuster Spider-Man: No Way Home—plays Detective Jeb Pyre, a devout Mormon whose faith will be tested as he investigates events that transpired within the Lafferty family, uncovering buried truths about the origins of the Latter Day Saints religion and the violent consequences of their faith.

Two episodes will be available on April 28, with a new episode released during each of the following five weeks.

The seven episode limited series also stars Sam Worthington, Denise Gough, Wyatt Russell, Billy Howle, Gil Birmingham, Adelaide Clemens, Rory Culkin, Seth Numrich, Chloe Pirrie and Sandra Seacat.

Oscar-winning filmmaker Dustin Lance Black (Milk) is serve as executive producer and showrunner.
