Online Producer, Lifetime Television

JOB DESCRIPTION: ONLINE PRODUCER

Online Producer, a non-managing job, is responsible for packaging
text, photos, video and/or graphics on LifetimeTV.com and other
emerging Lifetime new media platforms. A producer will work in the
New York office under the VP, Online, and the Editorial Director to
produce informative and entertaining content in sections that are
relevant to the Lifetime audience. The sections might relate directly
to Lifetime on-air programming (e.g. movies, series) or to areas of
interest to women (e.g. health, fitness, relationships). Online
Producer is responsible for creating, developing, managing and
posting the content in his/her section(s) and ensuring that the style
and content of the section is in line with the overall voice and
direction of the site and network.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Advertisement

• Brainstorm, plan and execute content plans for assigned
section(s)

• Determine the editorial “voice” for the section(s), ensuring
that it meets the overall editorial direction set for LifetimeTV.com

• Using content from Lifetime networks and other sources, produce
compelling online content

• Write stories, headlines and blurbs and utilize multimedia assets
to enhance the presentation

• Work with freelancers, bloggers and columnists to create content
for assigned sections

• Update and refresh the content of assigned site sections
throughout the day

• Monitor industry trends and surface potential content partners
for content section(s)

• Handle responsibilities such as producing newsletters, quizzes,
blogs, contests and sweepstakes

• Work with designers, editors and technology team, when needed

• Attend department and company-wide meetings to understand
priorities, give updates and share ideas

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• 3-5 years experience working for a website

• Working knowledge of HTML and Photoshop, and related web
authoring tools and software

• Editorial and subject matter specialist with strong writing and
editing skills

• Keen understanding of women’s content and how to package such
content in a compelling way

• Strong attention to detail

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Aptitude to multi-task and be detail-oriented in a fast-paced
environment.

• Flexibility in dealing with tight deadlines and shifting
priorities

• College degree in Journalism, Communications or related field
preferred
