  • Noted it above, but worth another mention. The NFL suggests the tag for today is #sb44. Good call. Nice and short, and, unlike #superbowl, is more archive-friendly.
  • Google surprise: it may be running an ad in the Super Bowl. Tweets @ericschmidt (Google’s CEO): “…Be sure to watch the ads in the 3rd quarter. (Someone said “Hell has indeed frozen over.” Scoop to John Battelle.
  • Has the idea that “sex sells” fallen out of fashion in Super Bowl ads?”
  • Don’t forget the USA Today Ad Meter, where you can watch the commercials and see how a focus group is rating them.
  • “Face the Nation” aired from Sun Life Stadium (née Land Shark Stadium) this morning. Shannon Sharpe: “Never in my wildest dreams did I think I’d be on ‘Face the Nation.'” Bob Schieffer: “Never in my wildest dreams did I think ‘Face the Nation’ would have a blimp shot.”
