10News, San Diego’s ABC affiliate, wants just the right person to
join our Creative Services department as News Topical
Writer/Producer. The successful candidate will write, produce and
edit exceptional news topical, news image and special sweeps
promotion. This position is responsible for developing consistently
effective in-show teases in concert with newscast producers. Other
responsibilities will include creating other assigned marketing
materials to enhance the 10News brand for our target audience.

applicant ready to produce great promos everyday. You must be able
to construct compelling marketing messages, collaborate effectively
with newscast producers and reporters, and consistently push for the

REQUIREMENTS: Must have outstanding proven communication skills,
including superior writing talent, and ability to collaborate with a
wide range of people. Must have a keen understanding of marketing
principles and be able to translate both research and the raw
materials of news stories into powerful, persuasive advertising in
all media. Must be a great storyteller, ready to evolve along with
the rapidly-changing broadcast business. Must be able to work
quickly, handle multiple projects and meet strict deadlines under
pressure. Final Cut Pro editing skills required.
College degree and 2-3 years experience in advertising, marketing,
communications and/or related field required.
