New AOL Video now live

By Cory Bergman

The expanded site — now with user created clips — has relaunched in beta. While I applaud the effort to combine clips across a wide spectrum (and the web-wide video search feature is cool), I think AOL Video misses the mark. Why can’t I display the video by popularity, timeliness or ranking? Why do I have to load two consecutive pages once I click on a “hotlist” clip? Why does the “email this clip” feature spawn my Outlook? You’d think after seeing YouTube’s success, AOL would get it. Users want to control their own video experience. And everything must be quick and easy.
