Trailer Roundup: Netflix’s A Perfect Pairing, HBO’s The Time Traveler’s Wife, Disney and Pixar’s Lightyear

Today’s trailer roundup includes Netflix’s A Perfect Pairing, HBO’s The Time Traveler’s Wife and Disney and Pixar’s Lightyear.

A Perfect Pairing stars Victoria Justice as Lola, an ambitious LA wine company sales executive. Lola quits her job in hopes of starting her own wine distribution company and moves to rural Australia to land her first potential client, Vaughn Family Wines. She soon falls for a handsome sheep station manager, Max (Adam Demos), but a secret threatens to tear them apart.

A Perfect Pairing debuts on May 19 on Netflix.

The HBO series The Time Traveler’s Wife premieres on May 15 on HBO and is available to stream on HBO Max. Based on the novel by Audrey Niffenegger, the series stars Rose Leslie as Clare Abshire and Theo James as Henry DeTamble. Unfortunately, Henry has a rare genetic disorder that causes him to drift uncontrollably back and forth through time, which complicates their love.

Steven Moffat serves as executive producer (Doctor Who, Sherlock), and David Nutter (Game of Thrones) directs.

Lightyear is the origin story of Buzz Lightyear from the beloved Toy Story film franchise. Chris Evans (Avengers: Endgame, Captain America) voices the adventurous Space Ranger who winds up stranded on a hostile planet 4.2 million light-years from Earth. As Buzz works to find a way back home through space, Zurg, an imposing presence who commands an army of ruthless robots, complicates his plans.

The cast includes Uzo Aduba, Keke Palmer, Taika Waititi, Dale Soules, Mo Morrison, Darby Steel and James Brolin. Angus MacLane (Finding Dory) directs the film, and the score comes from award-winning composer Michael Giacchino (The Batman).

Lightyear lands in theaters on June 17.


The Big Conn reveals the incredible true story of the biggest federal fraud in U.S. history. The series explores the real-life story of Eric C. Conn, a lawyer who stole half a billion dollars from the U.S. Social Security Administration before two women exposed his crimes.

All four episodes come to Apple TV+ on May 6, along with a companion podcast.

Becoming Elizabeth premieres June 12 on the Starz app at midnight and will debut on the Starz channel at 9 p.m. ET. Alicia Von Rittberg stars as young Elizabeth Tudor, an orphaned teenager who becomes embroiled in the political and sexual politics of the English court before ascending to the throne. The series also stars Jamie Blackley, Alexandra Gilbreath, Jamie Parker, Leo Bill, Bella Ramsey, Ekow Quartey, Alex Macqueen and Olivier Huband.
