Netflix has released its slate of new movie releases for Fall 2022.
New original films include Blonde starring Ana de Armas. A reimagining of the life of Marilyn Monroe, a Hollywood icon, the movie is based on the novel by Joyce Carol Oates. Blonde blurs the borders between fact and fiction to examine the growing gap between Norma Jeane’s public and private personas, beginning with her turbulent childhood and continuing through her ascent to fame and romantic relationships.
Blonde premieres September 28 on Netflix, and is in select theaters beginning Sept. 16.
The tale of Pinocchio is reimagined by Oscar-winning director Guillermo Del Toro (Crimson Peak, Pan’s Labyrinth, The Shape of Water) and Mark Gustafson. The stop-motion film features voice talent, including Ewan McGregor as Cricket, David Bradley as Geppetto, Gregory Mann as Pinocchio, Finn Wolfhard, Cate Blanchett, John Turturro, Ron Perlman, Tim Blake Nelson, Burn Gorman, Christoph Waltz and Tilda Swinton.
Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio premieres December 9.
Millie Bobby Brown (Stranger Things) returns as the brilliant and feisty younger sister of Sherlock Holmes (Henry Cavill) in Enola Holmes 2. Based on the Enola Holmes book series, the sequel finds Enola taking on her first official case. Following in the footsteps of her older brother, Enola opens her own detective agency but finds running her own business as a woman isn’t as easy as she imagined.
Enola Holmes premieres November 4 on Netflix.
