Machinima Xbox One App Unites Gamers and Second Screen

By Jordan Chariton

XBOX One goes on sale at Midnight tonight, and it’s filled with second screen features for gamers.

Machinima, an entertainment company spun off of YouTube, has launched a new App to accompany the XBOX One that offer users curated gaming videos and tutorials on screen via the One’s Snap feature. Snap gives viewers the freedom to do multiple things at once by running one app simultaneously with another app, TV show, or video games.

The feature is voice activated, and allows gamers to do various things. To see what your friends are doing, all a user has to do is say, “XBOX snap activity feed,” and a feed of your friends gaming activities will pop up on the right side of your screen.

For a user that needs in-game help, you can say, “XBOX snap Internet Explorer,” and the internet will become available on the right side of the screen, where you can do everything from watch tutorial videos on the game you’re playing to check recent sports scores.

The app is available for downloading tomorrow as XBOX One goes on sale.
