The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Trailer Promises Epicness

By Jessica Lerner

Amazon just made our day by releasing a second teaser trailer for the upcoming The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power series. And this time, it’s available for everyone, not just Prime members.

Fans get their first glimpse of some of J.R.R. Tolkien’s iconic figures from the island realm of Númenor in the new two-and-a-half-minute teaser video, which delves even more into the adaption.

The eight-part series will take viewers to several places, including the elf realms of Lindon and Eregion, the dwarven realm of Khazad-dûm, the Southlands, the Northernmost Wastes, the Sundering Seas and the island kingdom of Nmenór, all of which are featured in the teaser trailer.

And we get glimpses of some familiar faces. Despite not being the original actors, Galadriel (Morfydd Clark), Elrond (Robert Aramayo) and Isildur (Maxim Baldry) are returning figures from the movies.

This epic drama, set thousands of years before the events of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings books, centers on Tolkien’s famous Second Age of Middle-earth’s history.

The series premieres exclusively on Prime Video on Friday, Sept 2.

Amazon paid $250 million in the book’s rights and $1 billion in the show’s five seasons of production. Eight of the first season’s episodes were filmed in New Zealand, the location of all prior live-action films based in Middle-earth. For the second season, however, the production will relocate to the United Kingdom.
